The public is cautioned to remain extremely vigilant and proactively monitor surrounding fire activity. Fire conditions can change rapidly and unpredictably.  Do not wait for an official evacuation order if you feel unsafe or see immediate danger. Leave without delay.

We are instructing people to take extra precautions. The National Weather Service has issued a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Red Flag Warning for today. Strong winds, extremely dry fuels, and existing wildfires could result in rapid fire growth, extreme behavior, power outages, and dangerous travel.

A PDS Red Flag Warning is rare and identifies exceptionally dangerous fire-weather conditions that may result in:

  • Extreme and unpredictable fire behavior and rapid growth.
  • New fires become difficult to control quickly.
  • Dangerous conditions and reduced evacuation opportunities.
