Union County Awarded Grant for Baum Industrial Park Infrastructure

LA GRANDE, OREGON, APRIL 6 – Union County has received a $1,066,000 grant from the Oregon Business Development Department to fund new infrastructure at the Baum Industrial Park.   The project is backed by Regional Solutions and will include the addition of sewer, water, franchise utilities, and roadways with an expected completion date of June 2017.

“Completion of this project will add to the county’s inventory of shovel ready heavy industrial sites and develop the only vacant industrial site in Union County with rail access,” said Union County Commissioner Mark Davidson.  “It is part of our long range plans to encourage employers to locate or expand in Union County and provide family wage jobs.” –

At 60 acres, the Baum Industrial Park is the largest, shovel ready, industrially zoned parcel in Union County.  The area currently supports a number of industrial operations including the Boise Cascade particleboard plant, Hexion Specialty Chemical plant, Outdoor RV Manufacturing (Northwood Manufacturing), Eagle Carriage & Machine, Inc., Barnes Diesel Power, and HNS/USA Concrete.
