FTA 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors & Individuals with Disabilities

Union County is currently accepting applications from providers of public transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities for projects under the FTA 5310 program. Eligible projects include vehicle acquisitions, facilities construction or rehabilitation, equipment and other capital assets, mobility management, purchased transportation services, and preventive maintenance. Eligible subrecipients may apply by using the application found at

Funds in the amount of $339,497 may be available to Union County providers for the period beginning October 1, 2027 through September 30, 2029.

Title III Projects - Public Law 119-58

Union County is currently accepting project applications for funding under Title III of Public Law 119-58 (Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act). 

Eligible project categories include:

  1. Firewise Communities Program
  2. Search, Rescue and other Emergency Services
  3. Emergency Services Training and Equipment
  4. Community Wildfire Protection Plans
  5. Broadband Telecommunications Services

 

Applications are available here: Title III Project Application Form or may be obtained from the Union County Commissioners Office, 1106 K Avenue, La Grande, OR  97850.

Union County Emergency Services is accepting public comment on the draft Union County Energy Resilience Plan.

The plan is a non-regulatory document that serves as a guiding framework to improve energy resilience in Union County. Developed with grant funding from the Oregon Department of Energy, it addresses short-, medium-, and long-term power outages, prioritizes essential services, and identifies energy infrastructure risks and facility needs, including improvements to energy resilience through backup power, local generation, and microgrids.

Union County Emergency Services is accepting public comment on the updated 2026 Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).

The CWPP is a non-regulatory document that serves as a guiding framework, offering recommendations and resources to help reduce the risk and impacts of wildfire in Union County. The plan addresses all CWPP objectives and meets the requirements of the Healthy Forest Restoration Act, while aligning with the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy.

A key component of the plan is the Mitigation Action Items, which outline prioritized strategies and actions to strengthen community wildfire resilience.
